Trinity Hill Top Day Camp 2024
We are preparing eight weeks of fun at the THT Summer Day Camp for Campers. Now in its ninth year, THT continues to put smiles on children’s faces from 5 to 11 with creative activities and field trips that delivered wonderful opportunities to learn and grow throughout the summer.
Each week a unique offsite trip took campers to places like the Fire Station, Simcoe County Museum and Reverend Simon’s farm, to name a few. They also took part in a drum circle and learned about the many types of bees in Ontario, from Ranger Bob.
This year was particularly special for three Ukraine families whose children were able to spend many weeks of the summer at THT Day Camp, thanks to generous donations from our Regional Parish. Coming from their war-torn homes, four young children were made to feel welcome with the Ukraine flag flying over camp. They made new friends, practiced their English language skills and learned to live within a Canadian culture, which they found to be peaceful and kind.
During the last week of camp, parents dropped off donuts for the staff, as their children said goodbye to their favourite counsellor with hugs and, in some cases, tears.
Since the first days of planning, the camp committee of Bill Sergeant, Jane Robinson and Raymond Martinelli, set in place three objectives; One - to provide an affordable summer day camp for young families, Two - to provide summer jobs for students to gain experience and personal growth while earning funds to support their education. Thirdly - to monitor and manage the business of the THT Day Camp, to ensure the financial outcome was not a burden on the church.
It is with great pleasure that the Camp Committee announces that all three goals were achieved and once the final financials have been concluded, we anticipate providing the parish with moderate funds towards the church budget.
The Parish of Trinity should be pleased and proud of the staff employed at last year’s summer day camp, whose dedication and work ethic contributed to the success of THT Summer Day Camp 2023!
THT Day Camp 2024
Trinity Hill Top Day Camp is one of the most affordable Day Camps in Barrie – our goal is to provide children from the ages of 5 years to 11, with an unforgettable experience from July 2nd to August 23th, 2024.
The hours for the Camp are from 9 am to 4 pm daily. Before camp care is available from 8 am to 9 am and after camp care is from 4 pm to 5 p.m. Registration opens in March 15th 2024.
